Bio
FeCuOp is an artist collective founded in Miami in 1997 by Jason Ferguson, Christian Curiel, and Brandon Opalka, later joined by Victor Villafañe. The group’s name combines the first letters of each founding artist’s surname — like elements on the periodic table — emphasizing their belief in collaboration as a core medium. Each member brings a distinct background spanning painting, installation, performance, and social practice. Together, they fuse into a collective voice that explores human behavior, social rituals, and systems of perception.
FeCuOp’s work transforms spaces into sites of shared experience, encouraging viewers to step beyond passive observation and become active participants. Installations such as Going Out on a Limb, Heart-Shaped Kissing Booth, and Antenna have challenged ideas of intimacy, authorship, and collective action.
Their projects have been shown at Locust Projects, the Bass Museum of Art, and across Art Basel Miami Beach. Their work has been featured in Art in America, The Miami Herald, Arte Al Día, Miami New Times, and Contemporary Magazine.
Today, FeCuOp members live and work across the U.S., continuing to build immersive works that blur the lines between artist, audience, and environment.
